McCloskey Business Plan Winners
Members of the M-Lab were part of a team that won the 2013 McCloskey Business Plan Competition organized by the Gigot Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Notre Dame. Team "Contect" focuses on the commercialization of a novel concussion detection technology developed in the M-Lab and won prizesin several categories in addition to the Grand Prize (see Notre Dame's official announcement).
Concussion Research Featured in South Bend Tribune
M-Lab's research and lead investigator Christian Poellabauer were featured in an article in the South Bend Tribune. In the article, Poellabauer describes the challenges faced by current concussion detection tools and how the lab's speech analysis software provides an opportunity for low-cost, portable, and fast concussion assessment. M-Lab Receives Subaward for New RERC
The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) has been awarded a new Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (RERC) funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) and the M-Lab partners with the RIC to use smartphone-based tracking to monitor and study the mobility and social interactions in individual within the community after a stroke. HotPlanet Best Paper Award
Congratulations to students Shu and Lei and all other members of the NetSense Lab, M-Lab, and Sociology Department for winning the best paper award at the 2013 HotPlanet Workshop held in conjunction with SIGCOMM 2013 in Hong Kong!
